Can medical conditions cause aggression in dogs?
Answer:
Any medical condition or medication that affects the normal functioning of the nervous or endocrine systems has the potential to affect behaviour.
If the dog is in pain this may also make him more likely to behave defensively or irritably. This is why it is so important that dogs are given a thorough clinical examination before a behaviourist is called in to assess and address aggressive behaviour.
